Thai delegation visits Malaysia to strengthen bilateral relations
Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, the Thai House Speaker, led the delegation to pay a courtesy call on Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the Prime Minister’s Office in Putrajaya.

A delegation from Thailand visited Malaysia to discuss enhancing cooperation on various issues, including economic development, tourism, and the welfare of Thai workers in Malaysia.

Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, the Thai House Speaker, led the delegation to pay a courtesy call on Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the Prime Minister’s Office in Putrajaya.



The Thai House Speaker, commonly known as “Wan Noor,” stated that the visit was warmly received. He added that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to meet Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin in the southern border provinces of Thailand soon to discuss the opening of the Yala-Kedah border checkpoint to boost economic and tourism development.

Wan Noor also requested the Malaysian Prime Minister’s assistance for Thai workers in Malaysia, especially those working illegally. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim assured that efforts would be made to assist them.



In discussions with the Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs, there was a commitment to support and assist Thai workers and consider opening an additional border checkpoint.

Wan Noor also discussed agricultural technology exchange with the Malaysian Ministry of Agriculture and emphasized the strong relationship between Thailand and Malaysia, both founding members of ASEAN with close ties between their peoples. (NNT)
