Indian low-cost airline SpiceJet unveiled its latest venture: daily non-stop flights connecting Delhi to Phuket, commencing on May 31.

Ajay Singh, SpiceJet’s Chairman and Managing Director, expressed his enthusiasm for the new route.

“We are incredibly excited to launch our first-ever service to Phuket, a world-renowned destination. We are confident that our new daily non-stop flights will be a popular choice for both leisure and business travellers.

“This service will make their journey to Phuket seamless, allowing them to maximise their time enjoying the island’s beauty. This new route strengthens our commitment to expanding our international network and offering our passengers a wider range of exciting destinations.”

The new service perfectly complements SpiceJet’s existing operations in Bangkok from both Kolkata and Delhi. With a focus on convenience and affordability, the flights are scheduled to ensure a smooth travel experience, reported The Times of India.

Departing from Delhi at 9am and arriving in Phuket at 3.15pm, passengers can start their island adventures without delay. The return flight leaves Phuket at 4.15pm and lands in Delhi at 7.20pm, making it an ideal schedule for travellers.

Bookings for this highly anticipated route are now open on SpiceJet’s website and through all travel agents.

In related news, to tackle the turbulence caused by an unexpected sick call from a portion of its cabin crew, Air India Express launched proactive initiatives, ensuring minimal disruption for affected passengers. The operational hiccup led the airline to swiftly rearrange flight schedules and explore diverse solutions, all aimed at easing the inconvenience experienced by its travellers.

In other news, Thai Vietjet has abruptly cancelled its direct flights between Chiang Rai, in northern Thailand, and Phuket, a favourite destination on the Andaman Sea coast.

The budget airline remained tight-lipped about the sudden suspension. However, the timetable for May 1 to 31, filed with Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport and posted on its Facebook page, indicates that the final flight on this route was on May 12.
