Prominent Thai business figure found dead in luxury carLegacy

The prominent business figure known as Sa-gna was found dead in his luxury vehicle yesterday at 9.30pm in Soi Pattanakarn 54, Suan Luang district of Bangkok. Police and forensic teams rushed to investigate.

A black Lexus SUV, with Bangkok license plates, was discovered with its engine still running. Inside, the 47 year old man was found having taken his own life with a single gunshot. A revolver was found in the vehicle with one round discharged.

His wife recounts that Sa-gna left home driving his car the previous day at noon, a highly unusual act as he hadn’t driven himself for years. She had been unable to contact him since.

His wife’s search extended to contacting close relatives and, failing to locate him, she resorted to a mobile phone trace which led to the discovery of his whereabouts, to which she sent her workers to investigate.

In the time leading up to his death, Sa-gna had often expressed frustration about his chronic illness, which is believed to be a source of significant stress.

The preliminary investigation had forensic experts collecting evidence and documenting the scene, with photographs taken and statements recorded from relatives. The body was then transferred to Chulalongkorn Hospital for a forensic examination as per legal procedures.

Sa-nga was a renowned figure in the investment community, holding positions as an independent director, chairperson of good governance, and on the boards for executive compensation and recruitment for a company manufacturing national team sportswear.

He was also a prominent figure in the financial services and insurance sectors, reported Khaosod.

The news of his passing has sent ripples through the business and financial community, where Sa-gna was highly regarded for his expertise and contributions.

As the police continue their investigation, the exact circumstances leading to the tragic event remain the subject of scrutiny. The incident has also sparked discussions about mental health and the pressures faced by individuals in high-stress positions.
