British Police have launched an international manhunt for a fugitive Brit from Warrington, UK, believed to be hiding out in Thailand.
The Brit, 36 year old Luke Atkin from Lower Walton, is on the run after failing to appear in court on serious drug charges.
Atkin, previously of York, was charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine but failed to attend his trial at Bradford Crown Court. Found guilty in absentia last week, and a warrant has now been issued for his arrest.
North Yorkshire Police are hot on his trail and suspect he may have fled the country. Thailand is one of the potential destinations where Atkin could be hiding, reported Warrington Guardian UK.
A police spokesman issued a public plea.
“Wanted by the courts, do you know where Luke Atkin is? We are appealing to anyone who has seen Atkin or knows where he is now to contact us. It is believed that he has travelled abroad and may be in Thailand.
“We urge anyone who has any information about his whereabouts to call us on 101 and pass information for incident number 12240074511. If you prefer not to speak to the police, you can pass information anonymously to Crimestoppers online via https://orlo.uk/yJ9Qk or by calling 0800 555 111.”
In related news, a 47 year old machine operator from Pontypridd, South Wales was found dead in his hotel room in Thailand, leaving family and friends devastated.
In other news, the UK police bullishly declared they “finally got their man” when arresting a British pedophile at a London airport after almost 30 years on the run for historic sex crimes.
Alleged pedophile Richard Burrows, one of the UK’s “most wanted” fugitives, saw his 50-year reign of terror come to an end when he was apprehended on Thursday, March 28, at Heathrow Airport after hiding in Thailand and evading capture for 27 years on allegations of child sex attacks.
