An emergency vehicle rushing a pregnant woman to the hospital ran a red light and collided with a pickup truck at an intersection before hitting another car, fortunately causing no severe injuries to the woman or her unborn child.

CCTV footage captured the moment the emergency rescue vehicle, belonging to Thachiengthong Municipality, sped through a red light at the Jak Kam Phimuk intersection on the new Mueang Nga-Tha Chak road in Ton Thong subdistrict, Mueang district, Lamphun. The incident occurred at 2.35pm yesterday.

The footage shows the rescue vehicle moving at high speed, attempting to cross the intersection against the red light. Simultaneously, a pickup truck, which had the green light, entered the intersection from the right. The rescue vehicle struck the right side of the pickup truck forcefully, causing it to ricochet and crash into another car that was waiting at the red light, resulting in damage to all three vehicles.

Initial assessments revealed that the pregnant woman in the rescue vehicle sustained only minor bruises and that there was no significant harm to her unborn child. The emergency personnel involved in the accident also escaped with minor injuries, experiencing only body aches from the impact, reported KhaoSod.

Police from the Mueang Lamphun Police Station plan to summon both parties for further questioning to determine the precise cause of the accident.
